(Charlotte) Mina Perry (née Paquier) began teaching French at Westfield College in 1899, and became Head of French in 1902, when she secured Recognised Teacher status from the University of London.

She worked part-time at Westfield, East London College and University College London, and contributed to the University of London intercollegiate system. She taught Old French at Westfield and Modern French at University College London. It was under the intercollegiate system that male students first appeared at Westfield to attend French courses.

Perry became Day Lecturer at East London College in 1906. When she was promoted to College Professor of French at ELC in 1913, she resigned from Westfield. Perry was responsible for all French teaching at East London College, and later had support from an assistant as student numbers increased. In 1924, Perry was appointed as University Professor.
